About Me

Born in Salisbury, I have lived in Wiltshire all my life, now living in Amesbury. I've always enjoyed imagery, whether it be photography, computer graphics or print design. During the day I work as a General Manager in a typesetting company and try to find as much time as possible for photography in the evenings and weekends.

My favourite subjects are landscapes and locations of interest. Living in one of finest rural counties in England, I find it most rewarding.

I am a self-taught photographer having spent a small fortune on photography magazines and browsing the internet for tips and inspiration, yet I find there is always so much more to learn. I am a frequent visitor of Digital Camera Magazine's web site and forum which I really enjoy.

I currently use a Canon EOS 400D and have several lenses. For landscapes I use a Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens with a Hoya circular polarizer and Cokin graduated filter. For wildlife, either my Canon 90-300mm or my Sigma 170-500mm. For macro shots I use a Sigma 50mm.

I try to minimise the use of Photoshop, however, I do like to shoot in Raw format and combine exposures to show detail in both the sky and land.

I think my dream would be to become a professional world travel photographer, however for 2007 I just want to build a library of photographs in and around Wiltshire.
